Consumer Research Intern – Audience Insights Team

The New York Times is seeking a Summer Consumer Research Intern to join the Audience Insights team within our Marketing Department.

What It’s All About

Work on research products that will inform and optimize several user experience, product, and marketing initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Within the Audience Insights team you will work on qualitative and quantitative research to inform product development and marketing. You will help our team surface insights focused on enhancing consumer experience with apps, video, and social media feeds.

Recommended skills / characteristics include the following:

  • Background in applied social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, economics) and / or statistics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in research interviewing (or observing interviews)

  • Experience in survey development / writing (or at least some familiarity with the general process)

  • Extensive experience creating Powerpoint-type presentations (report writing and table/chart development

  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides

  • Strong interest in digital media and cross platform experiences

  • Passion for NYT

  • The ability to communicate and collaborate well with a smart, diverse team is a must
