BlackRock Platform Innovation (BPI) helps to manage some of the largest, most complex and highest value firm-wide projects that BlackRock undertakes. The BPI Team are change management experts who apply in-depth knowledge of Blackrock’s people, processes and technology to ensure concepts become reality. The BPI mission is to ensure a globally consistent operating model and platform across all investment, operating and client functions. BPI plays a critical role in the “connective tissue” between the various groups within BlackRock – we bring people together to overcome key challenges.
The Platform Integration Managing Director will be responsible for ensuring BlackRock’s businesses have the necessary technology platform and sustainable operational processes to support an aggressive growth agenda. The candidate will lead a team responsible for assessing complex business/process issues, identifying actionable opportunities and designing solutions; all while ensuring that Aladdin is being fully leveraged and enhanced.
Partner with the firm’s senior leadership to help shape BlackRock’s platform strategy to maximize growth, scale and consistency.
Develop strategic roadmaps, execution plans, drive and deliver results
Build the bridge between current state and future state
Work closely with the COOs to define, manage and communicate platform priorities to development and operations teams.
Lead internal consulting teams that will engage on a wide range of projects that may include: complex fund launches or transformations, coordinating responses to large regulatory changes, supporting enterprise initiatives, launching innovations like “Provider Aladdin”, and designing business models to help transform critical areas.
Ensure key executives and stakeholders are kept informed and engaged
Accountability for critical controls including, but not limited to: permissions, regulatory engagement, audit, and business continuity
Partner with HR in the support of the Firms Inclusion & Diversity agenda
Ensure BPI continues one of the best people development platforms in all of BlackRock
Bachelor’s Degree equivalent, MBA preferred
15+ years of experience in financial services or a related industry, including significant experience engaging with executive/c-suite level leadership
Extensive experience in business process re-engineering, change management and platform integration
Detailed understanding of Asset Management products, including but not limited to: Fixed Income, Equity, Derivatives and Alternatives
Significant and successful track record in driving and delivering complex and impactful strategic change programs
Experience navigating a complex matrix of accountability and stakeholders
Ability to clearly communicate objectives across a range of stakeholders and to articulate the rationale behind those goals.
Results driven individual with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time
