Weill Cornell Medical College Research Project Manager in New York, New York

Position Summary

Under guidance, oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of research programs within the department

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews. Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified. May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits.

  • Sets project management timelines and manages stakeholder expectations, proactively resolving conflict to successfully meet project timelines and deliverables.

  • Oversees projects through all phases of the project life cycle, including initiation, requirements and specifications, design, construction, testing, installation and post implementation review to approved budget, scope and schedule.

  • Manages risk throughout the project life cycle and makes contingency plans to manage issues that pose risk to budget, timely delivery or functionality.

  • Manages resource planning to ensure adequate distribution of work and overall effectiveness. Tracks resource utilization relative to overall project budget.

  • Establishes and oversees subaward agreements.

  • Assists with the preparation and submission of progress reports.

  • Assists with the preparation and review of IRB protocols.

  • Compiles, analyzes and reviews data for conference presentations, abstracts submission and manuscript publication. Helps develop research presentations and posters for conferences or seminars.

  • If applicable, manages the financial activity of grant portfolios, including pre- and post-award grant management activities. Assists in negotiating new research contracts as needed. Collaborates with investigators to ensure appropriate/timely responses.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

Experience

Approximately 5 years of progressive experience in research and development environments including project coordination and research design

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning.
